Want to turn your Instant Ramyeon into an entirely new dish? Try Kimchi Butter Ramyeon (김치버터라면) featuring butter-sautéed Kimchi and stir-fried Ramyeon noodles!
Instant Ramyeon saved me so many times when I needed a quick weekday lunch or was too lazy to cook a full meal. However, eating the same kind of instant noodles can get repetitive over time. That’s when I started to get into Ramyeon Hacks, ways to pimp up instant noodles and turn them into a whole new dish. Kimchi Butter Ramyeon or 김치버터라면/shortened: 김버라 is the hack I often use when I crave something stir-fried instead of a brothy noodle soup. The soft and creamy taste of butter mixed with the pungent Kimchi flavors is a match made in heaven. Combine that with the salty and spicy taste of Ramyeon broth, and you have a perfect meal!
What type of Ramyeon should I use for this hack?
You can make Kimchi Butter Ramyeon with any common kind of Korean instant Ramyeon. However, I wouldn’t opt for seafood-flavored ones, as they don’t harmonize too well with Kimchi and butter. I usually use Shin Ramyeon for this recipe, which I found works best!
